"Countdown" airs on most-watched channels in France and Germany
The German adaptation of “Cuenta Atrás”- a Globomedia series produced by CUATRO, continues to meet with success on free channel RTL. Produced by MME/FILMPOOL (of the ALL3MEDIA group), the second season of the show, called “Countdown,” is drawing above-average viewership on primetime Thursday nights, or about a 19% share and more than four million viewers (target group 14-49). This German adaptation of the series has also been acquired by french channel TF1

TF1 had previously bought and aired the original Spanish version of the show, which met with very good success. The show, which has aired in more than 60 countries, is the first Spanish series to air on France’s main channel. First adapted in neighboring Germany, the French channel decided to also buy the adaptation, as well.

Another series distributed by IMAGINA INTERNATIONAL SALES that is making progress in its international dealings in more than 19 countries is “Águila Roja.” An undisputed leader in Spain, the Globomedia produced show that airs on TVE made its primetime debut in the US early last month on that country’s Spanish-speaking V-ME cannel. RTV Comercial (Telerebelde) viewers also enjoy watching the adventures of this masked hero, which will soon also arrive in Mexico thanks to TVC Networks.

Another example of just how popular Spanish series are is “El Internado.” Sold in 30 countries, this Globomedia production for Antena 3 has met with success in Romania on the pay channel AXN. It is that channel’s second most-watched program, surpassing even the American show CSI in viewership. Direct TV- a pay channel in Latin America- also airs the mysteries of the Black Lagoon boarding school. The show is currently in its sixth season on that channel.
